Thursday's adventure started with Khol's and ended at Sanam. Michelle and I were determined to go clubbin for this girrrrl, but by the time we got there she decided to walk out. Haha. What a wonderful 20 minutes up in the club. Thank you Christian and Alfred for driving our annoying asses. Thank you for taking me home Nikki.
Friday was a long hot day that ended at Beverly's house. Hottie to the left would be the birthday girl. Check the creeper in the back.
Got to meet up with some old friends, Sosi and Earvin. Miss you guys really. See you next year? Haha. No but really we need to hang.
Jay Lopez made an appearance, trying to look like Nick Jonas much? Haha. Can we kick it...yes we can.
Saturday morning. After a long night, we wake up and end up spending $20 at McDonald's. WTF! Haha, three people should not be eating this much bad food.
Today I had to wake up at the crack of dawn to go to a work meeting. It was relatively fun actually. Then I met up with B and went to church. Caught up with Michelle and Kathryn for some Wing Stop. Now I need to concentrate and write my life away for English and study for Poli-Sci.
America is on a high, everyone has got that election fever. On a normal day, it is almost impossible to not hear something about McCain or Obama. I've made it pretty clear in previous posts about who I want to vote for, but do yourself a favor. Don't listen to what your friends have to say, they aren't ones that are running. Don't vote for someone because cool people like the Hundreds made t-shirts with a certain person on it. Don't follow the crowds. Educate yourself and make your voice heard.
Jon Chu has done it again. Amazing.
The debate is on at 6pm. Learn something about the candidates. Don't be close minded just because our current president represents a certain party. Stand up for what YOU believe in and make your voice heard.
First, they had, the always cute, Jesse McCartney perform "Leavin".
Then my boys sang "Love Bug" once again. Please tell me why my heart forgets to beat everytime they grace the stage. Hahah. Right when Nick started singing my G-Ma said "How cute he is!" How cute he is indeed.
They take my breath away. What more can I say? Xoxo Joleena
If you didn't hear about the Midnight Sun leak then I think you have been living in a social bubble.
The novel was in it's early stages of drafts when someone got a hold of a printed copy and posted it online. Meyer writes about her feelings on this situation: http://www.stepheniemeyer.com/pdf/midnightsun. You can also find the partial draft there, which has kind of taken over my life these past couple of hours. This book is Twilight written in Edward's point of view.
I might be really depressed if this book never gets published. I thought my anticipation for the movie was bad, but the need for this book is unbearable. Haha I sound like such a loser, but it's a Twilight thing. That's all I gotta say.
Friday we went to Raisa's gathering and met up with some old homies, and made some new friends.
St. Charles since we was 5.
The Selena to my Demi. We're the life of the party.
Last night we hit up Nikki and we ended up meeting up with friends from high school. Always a good time with Alex, Alan, Bua, and Chris. Miss you guys. They ended up going to some weird place so we bounced, went back to Nikki's. Clariz and I ended up going to Sanam because our adventure was far from over. Haha.
Good weekend. Let's do it again sometime. Xoxo Joleena
The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald This is probably the only book that I was happily forced into reading during high school. If you haven't picked up this book based on 1920's speakeasys, flappers, and the infamous Gatsby parties, then you are mos def missing out on life. I plan on making this the theme for my birthday next year so I suggest you do some reasearch and be ready. It is full of unrequited love and heartbreak. Weird deaths, and a lot of parties. I really enjoyed this one and I think you will too. (good call Catie!)
I spend my days wasting away with a book in my hand and coffee in my mouth. I like to sit and eat white cheddar cheetos for days. Books are my escape, music is my reality. Love is a lifestyle that finds me. Snowboarding is my passion. I express myself through words and live through pictures.
We live, we laugh, we grow, we learn, we cry, we die. I live day by day, who knows what may come next? Keep your head up, life aint as bad as it seems.
I am just a player in this game of life. Xoxo Joleena
Thank you for making my birthday as special as it could be. It started Thursday at the safari party. Then continued Saturday with more Meesh. Sunday with the Prudencio's at Shik Do Rak. Then Monday lunch at Corner Bakery with the best people ever. Then Golden Spoon and Target. It was a whole day of favorite places. Then dinner with the fam and B.
Gwen's birthday is the day before mine so happy birthday to us. CPK red velvet cake is my favorite.
Bryan got me a watch! Loves it. If i don't want it to be a watch I can make it a bracelet. Too bad it's not an everyday watch.
My wonderful co-workers got me an amazing jacket that I can't wear to wait. Winter can you come already?
Gwen got me some Vans that I've wanted since like forever.
Khrista gave me this movie because of sentemental reasons. Haha. And The Maine cd which is amazing and is currently in my car right now.
Gwen also gave me a Twilight shirt that I am love, love, loving. Khrista gave me a zeebs shirt that I wore on my birthday. Love them both.
Thank you for my wonderful presents. My homemade ones are still being made. I can't wait to see them. I love you all. My birthday was great!
It's been my birthday since Thursday. Haha. Xoxo Joleena
It's ok, I still have hope that one day Nick Jonas will be my boyfriend. Haha. Selena can have him for now. Joe, I will do the Foot String with you anyday.
They also sang BB Good and Burnin Up, but Love Bug is my absolute fave.
I love them more and more everyday. Who else could start a promise ring fad like they do? It's so cool that I just might pick up a ring that says "True Love Waits". It's so in these days. Haha.
BB Good to me, Love Bug I'm Burnin Up for you baby. Xoxo Joleena
The Video Music Awards, on MTV, is one of the biggest nights, in main stream music, today. I was lucky enough to attend a portion of tonight's festivities.
The event took place at the world famous Paramount Pictures backlot.
While waiting endlessly for the Jonas Brothers performance, Pink drove by.
Also making an appearance on our side was a memeber of the Jonas Brothers' band.
The Jonas Brothers themselves decided to walk right by us. I was able to swipe Joe and grab Kevin, but once again Nick was untouchable.
Warning: there's a lot of screaming involved. Haha. I highly suggest you fast forward to 2:50. HIGHLY SUGGESTED.
So happy they sang Love Bug, it's pretty much my fave.
The back of Kevin's head.
The boys were amazing as always. The place was packed with crazy bitches. Haha.
The brothers and their band.
After their performance... We got to head over to the B-Tank for the viewing party where the one and only Kanye West was scheduled to perform.
Sway made an appearance to tell us what was going to happen.
Kanye and his drummers.
It was super dark so it was hard to take pictures, but it was a really nice background during his performance.
And of course, Russell Brand's back.
Overall, all the energy was sucked out of me for a good cause. We were there from 10 am to 9:16 pm. We had to walk back to the car because it would have taken like a year if we waited for a bus. Britney Spears won too many awards and it wasn't nice of them to make fun of the Jo Bros promise rings. If I was given a chance, I do it again in a heartbeat, but ask me again next year and I'll probably change my mind. Haha. Hope you enjoyed the show. I did.
"Like a Jonas, touched for the very first time. Like a Jooonas, when your promise ring's next to mine." -Katy Perry
