Best of 2008.

This year has been crazy. Through my life and the lives of well-known celebrities, I've compiled my picks for the Best of 2008.

Best Television Show:

This was a tough one. I am a huge Gossip Girl and One Tree Hill fan, but this season, Gossip Girl takes the win. All the drama made for many OMG moments.

Best Themed Party:

Jueang's 21st birthday: Just Got Fucked. This was the most original party theme to date. Mad props Jueang.

Best Robert Pattinson Moment:

I saw a ton of Robert Pattinson interviews, but Tyra actually got him to bite her. I'll take a bite by Rob Pattz anyday.

Most Photographed:

Christian Gapasin has graced the lens of my camera more than anyone else this year.

Best Celebrity Photo shoot:

The Twilight cast in their photo shoot for Vanity Fair. This is one of the few photo shoots that the entire cast was a part of and all of the pictures came out beautifully.

Best Blog:

Natalie Dee has always been one of my favorites. Her comics always make me laugh and warm my little black heart.

Best Artist:

My boys are taking this one. The Jonas Brothers went from Disney Channel stars, to a worldwide phenomenon.

Biggest Accomplishment:

Clariz and I have always wanted to start a business. Well, the girl did it without me and she did it with a ton of success. Claracakes is going places. Good job BPV.

Best Movie:

Now all of you know my obsession with Twilight and you probably think it's weird that this is my movie of the year, but the numbers that The Dark Knight brought in were insane. Not to mention, Heath Ledger's amazing performance as the Joker. Hands down this movie wins.

Best Celebrity to Meet:

This one was also a difficult decision. Between meeting both Kellan Lutz and Paul Rodriguez twice made it a tough call. They were both tramendously sweet, but I have to give this one to Kellan for going out of his way to take this picture with me. And he took it twice because the first time I was shaking and it came out blurry, so he grabed the camera and did it himself. Thanks Kellan.

Best Book:

The Twilight saga had a huge year. From releasing it's fourth and final book, to the premiere of it's first movie in it's series, Stephenie Meyer is a very successful woman. This saga has dazzeled girls all of the world and continues to hold a place in my heart.

It's only just begun. I'm not done with this year yet.

Robert Pattinson is Gay.

Well, not technically, but he will be playing a gay man, Salvador Dali, in an upcoming European film, Little Ashes. If you didn't know, Salvador Dali was an artist that had a relationship with a poet, Federico Garcia Lorca.

It's scheduled to release on March 27, 2009, here in the United States. It looks really good, but I might laugh every time Rob talks.

Hmmm.

The Cullens.

Most def my fave part in the movie. Jessica is the best. Haha.

"Seriously, like don't waste your time."

I can't wait for it to be on DVD.

Movies on Christmas Day.

Yesterday I wanted to go to the movies and watch the Curious Case of Benjamin Button, but of course when we got there it was sold out. There are so many people that go to the movies on Christmas day. So, I suggested we watch Seven Pounds, but we ran into Benji and he said it was bad so everyone believed him. We ended up watching Valkyrie with Tom Cruise. Yes, the story line was cool, but OMG I needed some more action up in it.

I would have much rather seen the movie like this.

Someone watch the Curious Case with me tonight.

Weekend.

Friday night kicked of Christian's 20th birthday with a Gossip Girl themed night at Bucca.

"Hello fellow Upper East Siders. Tonight is the night we celebrate one of our very owns 20th birthday. So dress to impress and let's set sail in this night of the unknown." From Gossip Girl herself, Nikki Morada.

Saturday consisted of baking cupcakes. Edible and wearable.

St. Charles Simbang Gabi is always a reunion.

Since we was 5, to make Mikey happy.

Then it was over to the Gapasin residence to celebrate with Christian.

Apparently the cupcakes were a success.

Crazy kids living crazy dreams.

Women of the Year.

MTV released their top 10 men and women of 2008. Guess who got number 1 for the women...

None other than the female fans of Twilight. Yay us! Standing in all those lines, constantly checking blogs, buying magazines, and watching YouTube videos was all worth it. I spend a lot of time reading up on the stars of Twilight and what is going to happen next with New Moon. I can't wait to stand in more lines, meet more people, and see a brand new movie next November.

I love Twilight.
Xoxo Joleena

First of the Season.

Monday night/Tuesday morning consisted of playing poker with the boys and not sleeping. I closed my eyes for 30 minutes and when I got up they produced this...

Thanks guys.

After 4 hours of driving and being terrified of spinning out with no chains, we made it.

There was fresh powder and they had the snow machines blowing nonstop.

The days adventure didn't end at Big Bear. We drove around until we found the Griffith Park Light Festival.

I have to say that I was kind of disappointed. When I was five this stuff was way cooler.

The snow was amazing and I can't wait to hit the slopes again.

Who's Victoria?

The Victoria's Secret Fashion Show was on tonight.

This was my favorite part.

Loves it.
Xoxo Joleena

Call Me at Midnight.

If you have been on MySpace then you probably saw this:

Did you check it out? Well, if you leave a comment on the Twilight movie MySpace page stating how many times you've watched it, and add a widget to your MySpace, then you could get a call from Robert Pattinson at midnight on December 31st. What a wonderful way to ring in the new year.

Too bad it's a recording or else I would ask him to marry me.
Xoxo Joleena

P.S. It looks like Taylor is winning fan polls over Michael as to who should play Jacob Black in New Moon. Either one is fine with me, at least Rob and Kellan are signed and ready to film.

200.

After 9 months of blogging and over 10,000 hits, this is my 200th post.

Meet my best friend, Clara.

This girl started her own business that she likes to call Claracakes. But, you already knew that. Let's tell you something you didn't know. I met her freshman year of high school. I remember it clearly. She came into World Geography with a poster board for a homework assignment that didn't even need to be written down. She was the epitome of an over achiever. Haha. Thank goodness for that. This little over achiever is also a creative cookie that likes to make me things. So, because she is my best friend and because she buys my love, I dedicate my 200th post to Clara Quadra, cupcake extraordinaire.

Keep up the wonderful things that you do. Biatch.
Xoxo Joleena

It's Ok.

The Catholic Daughters of St. Charles were selling these in front of church today and I happened to pick one up.

This got me thinking. I have been working retail for about 3 consecutive years now. Every holiday season I wish the guests a Happy Holiday. If someone says Merry Christmas to me, of course I say it back with no hesitation. Christmas is a Christian/Catholic holiday to celebrate the birth of Jesus. Although we deny it on a daily basis, it has become more commercial and universal then ever. I have not met one Jewish person that sits at home and does nothing on Christmas day. I've also met a fair share of non-practicing Catholics that celebrate the holiday as well. Commercial Christmas is all about presents, trees, and Santa Claus. In many ways, the true religious aspect of the holiday has been lost. So, I ask you, what is so wrong about wishing everyone you see, meet, or greet a Merry Christmas? Nothing I tell you, it is not politically incorrect to wish someone a Merry Christmas. Go out and spread the Christmas cheer.

I wish you a Merry Christmas.

Let it Begin.

Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow.

Shred mad pow bro.

From Chris to You.

Dear Chris,

Please do not disappoint me and the millions of girls that want to see the pages of the novel come alive. I heard that Michael Copon is rumored to be the new and improved Jacob Black. If this is true, then I might be okay with it. Although, I find it extremely sad that Taylor Lautner will be out of a job, Michael is so much hotter. You are one brave man to be taking on such a big job.

Good luck to you. Please make my dreams come true.

Look I Sparkle!

Twilight in 3 minutes and 10 seconds:

Basically. Haha. Ohh Taylor Lautner might not be asked to return for New Moon?!? Although I'm not much of a fan of his, I think they need to have the entire original cast in the second one. It's gonna piss off a lot of people if he's not in the second one.

How did we get here?

Ten.

Christmas List item #10:

TENS x DISENY. How ironic. Haha. Yes, the Lost Boys tees are way cuter but this has my name written all over it. There are only 100 of each colorway so stand in those lines tonight. Haha.

Please and thank you!

New Moon Crisis.

Yes, it is true, Catherine Hardwick will not be directing New Moon. I am kind of disappointed because I'm scared it won't stay true to the book or the first movie. Just like when Harry Potter got a new director. They said they are gonna keep the fans in mind, so I'm wishing for the best.

Robert Pattinson is the most important aspect anyway, right?

Rob Dyrdek & Paul Rodriguez & Torey Pudwill.

A little store in Encino, called Primitive, hosted a signing starring Rob Dyrdek.

We showed up at 12, which is when it started and about 10 minutes later Rob and Drama come up and stand in the back of the line, and I asked him to pose for a picture with me. "Let's do it."

The flyer said "other guest appearances".

Meet Torey Pudwill. He currently skates for Almost, DVS, Matix and Active.

Also in attendance, the owner of Primitive himself, Mr. Paul Rodriguez Jr.

Met Paul for the second time this year. Yum.

The newest addition to my wall of signatures.
Forcing the boys to wake up was worth it. Thank you for waking up and thank you Christian for driving. Now I have to write two papers and study for two finals. Wish me luck.

Good luck to all of you this week as well!
